Great item—bought to up grade from basic card. Put in the drivers very first then the card restart laptop or computer and all performs fantastic.

“Not easily Hackintosh compatible, Works like a treat, Fine Network Card”

I acquired this has i needed a faster info transfer amount over the on board ten/a hundred bit one particular. Even though i haven’t acquired a gigaswitch yet, this newborn nonetheless conquer up my on board 1.

      Linux mint 17. 1 and ubuntu 14. 04. D-link dge-528t is a plug and play device for linux mint 17. The linux driver r8169 is automatically used to enable the device so that no manual software intervention is required to enable the device. I have had the card in my machine for a week and the transfer rates from pc to pc are a bit slower than expected (25mb mb meaning megabytes and not megabits). I will hopefully improve this over the coming weeks by tweaking some of the settings e. Setting mtu higher than 1500 and using jumbo frame sizes. Having said that, its still an awesome product for linux users.

      Not easily hackintosh compatible. I tried this in my mountain lion hackintosh system and couldn’t get it to work, even though its os x compatible, will save for when i upgrade to maverick and i’ll have another go.

    Took a minute to install and has maintained a solid and constant gigabit connection since installing a month ago. The existing gigabit card would sometimes connect using fast ethernet on start up but this card always boots up using gigabit. Very pleased and no issues whatsoever. Given the relatively low cost, i would highly recommend this card for those looking for gigabit connectivity. Fyi, running under windows xp.

Windows 7 automatically found drivers (while connected to the internet using onboard ethernet)at first i wasn’t sure if the card would perform well after long periods of time due to no heat sinks, yet the product doesn’t get hot and through put never drops,obviously easy installation, don’t need to use w-o-l due to the card living in a server so doesn’t turn off.

      No prob with the part, but many a prob with vista. It just wouldn’t recognise it and it doesn’t matter whethee the driver is installed or not, it just won’t allow it to work. In fact, internet and vista appear to hate each other. In the end i bought windows 7, which is a whole lot better.

      I found that this adapter was very easy to install and it has worked reliably from the beginning. It is definitely fast, although my system is not fast enough to fully put it through it’s paces. I use it on a windows xp machine to connect to my router. Please note that when i removed xp and installed a final rc version of windows 7 i was surprised to find that the adapter didn’t work: windows 7 didn’t include a driver for it, and i was unable to connect to the internet at all. At the time i couldn’t find a suitable driver on an internet search, so i ended up reinstalling xp. This is not something i would recommend you try unless you want a week of two of misery reinstalling your system. Best to check before you buy it if you’re thinking of upgrading to windows 7. I believe it is compatible with windows vista 32/64bit, linux and macpro, but the dlink website still doesn’t give a link for the windows 7 driver (for the similar model dfe-528tx).
