Review and Buying Guide of DGS-105/B 5 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Metal Desktop Switch

Does what it suggests on the box. Simple plenty of to established up, though wouldn’t have minded a little extended length on the dc electricity cable among the transformer and the unit.

All i want as i only needed a only fast switch for the residence. I screwed the sucker down also with tends to make it less difficult to set cables in/out.

Simple to install good quality product or service. . If you have a bt/sky box and an android box and maybe contemplating of an amazon box also, also a residence cinema reciever with a ethernet connection this is for you.

Comments from buyers

“Unbeatable value, Really good product, good solid build, Easy to install good quality product., its quite small so it can be hidden away quite easily. It can also be attached to the wall , Still working after almost two years”

Nevertheless functioning soon after nearly two a long time. No dodgy capacitors in this newborn. Two consoles, nas, tv set, stb/dvr, sonos link and a powerline adaptor are hammering away on this working day immediately after working day.

Just what i needed to route my ethernet all around the property from my personal computer. Formerly i experienced tried using to use mains connectors with iffy final results. This provides a trusted link for seeing iplayer and streaming video. Very simple little bit of package and very good metal building.

Definitely very good solution, superior solid develop. This is my second one particular, not since the initial a single unsuccessful, but i have to have a 2nd just one for my community. Truly excellent products, excellent reliable construct, and plug and perform, so i will not have to get worried about it.

I bought this based on other positive amazon reviews, the purpose being to make more sense of the cabling in my lounge. I currently have my billion bipac 7800dxl router connected to:billion bipac 7800dxl triple wan dual band wireless n gigabit adsl2+/fibre 3g/4g lte broadband router with usb portsmart tvxboxsteam linkpowerline extenderas a result all the ports on the router were used so no room for expansion and at times i noticed the transfer speeds to become a little sluggish especially with all the other wifi devices that were connected to it. So as it was on offer during the black friday sales i took a chance. It arrived next day via prime delivery. I purchased the metal version which feels incredibly sturdy, it can be wall mounted if you wish. Set up is as simple as plugging one cable from the router to the switch and then everything else to the switch directly. Plug in the standard wall wart psu that comes with it and let it do the rest. The cables i used are:csl – 5 x 0. 6 flat ethernet gigabit lan network cable (rj45) | 10/100/1000mbit/s | patch cable / broadband cable | compatible with cat. 7 | blacksince installation i have overall noticed a much smoother connection on all devices, so happy with the upgrade. I am no expert in terms of networking but for my purpose it suits me perfectly.

A quick, easy, plug-and-play solution to wiring multiple devices to your router. . My virgin broadband router is in the master bedroom, but most of my internet enabled devices (xbox one, playstation 4, sky+, smart tv, laptop) are situated or used in the living room. When i last had the floorboards up i only ran one cable, because back then i could rely on the wi-fi connection. Unfortunately that is no longer the case, the router seems to slowly be giving up the ghost and with virgin refusing to even sell me a replacement, i’m having to wire in all my devices. As i was preparing to have the floorboards up again to run three more cables, i saw on amazon’s black friday deals that this switch was due to come on offer, and that reminded me that such a product exists. It’s so easy to install, you just plug it into a power socket, and then connect the switch to the router with an ethernet cable, and then you have four more ports to plug other devices into. There’s no set up, no web-based management page (or if there is one, i’ve not needed to use it), it’s literally just a plug and play device. My only gripes with it are that the power supply port and the ethernet ports are on opposite sides of the device, so there is no real tidy way to have this sitting in your living room. There are slots in the bottom to attach the switch to a wall or desk with the included screws, which i plan to use to attach it to the tv unit, and i am looking into some cable fixing methods i can use to help with cable management a bit. So right now it looks untidy, but it does the job perfectly.
