All the high rankings are 100% proper. Did nothing but energy and plugged in. It is been jogging for a few months with not even a blip.

Not any additional noisy than other equivalent switches i be expecting but you will find a couple of compact followers inside that make on their own knownall good in any other case.

Plug it with each other and away you go. The led indicator labels are little bit quirky but still noticeable. 24 port version arrives with 19′ rack brackets.

This switch is small, quiet and cool. I’ve used it to move some networked kit into another room. Everything that i unplugged from my router and plugged into this continued to work as it always did, the devices even kept their old ip addresses. I just plugged one of the ports into a port on my router, unplugged devices from the router and plugged them into this switch. The process was really simple, there is no explanation needed. It feels like a solid reliable bit of kit that is going to give many years of service without fuss. More electronics should be like this.

Solid performer as a black friday bargain. . I’m ashamed to say that i needed to purchase this switch to handle the number of networked devices we have at home. Linksys is not my usual brand choice for this type of hardware, however the black friday discount price of £44. 99 made the choice worthwhile. This switch was the final piece in a network upgrade, sitting behind an ubiquiti edgerouter lite 3 firewall router on a cat 6 1gb network and forming the backbone of our home network, feeding a mix of cabled devices (some through additional tp-link 5 port switches) and various wireless devices through two access points (1 netgear wac-120-100uks and 1 tp-link wpa220 kit fed via powerline). Currently 9 ports are in use. The switch is fairly compact for a 16 port one, and was provided neatly packaged and protected. It took less than 5 minutes to install as it is an unmanaged switch. Although initially there seemed to be some issues with speed detection on some of the switch ports a further check of cabling and a reboot of the switch and router seemed to resolve the issue; i suspect the problems we experienced were caused by my tweaking of the firewall and router configuration. We’ve now been running this switch for two weeks without configuration changes and have not seen any further issues; speed tests confirm that we are consistently getting 170mb+ down and a steady 15mb up both wired and wireless on a 200mb virgin media connection.
