    Simple & robust connectivity. I received this fs105 switch as part of netgear’s friends and family scheme for evaluation. The purpose of this review is to provide an objective summary, for the benefit of those considering purchasing this switch. The switch currently sits behind my television set to provide a means to wire a couple ethernet based av devices to my router, after i had used up the four router ethernet ports already. My first impressions upon opening were positive – the unit is robust and has a quality feel to it, in part to the metal casing, something netgear have reinforced by backing with a lifetime warranty. Set up was equally simple – connect up the switch and the devices via a couple of separate ethernet cables, and a re-assuring green glow beside each port immediately indicates a connection – simple. Once done, my network traffic was flowing seamlessly. You do, however, need to bear in mind the switch requires a single mains socket available to power the unit, so make sure you have one available nearby. If you are looking for something simple, yet quality solution to connect ethernet devices, this would make an ideal choice.
