This switch performs as expected but it is extremely noisy. It demands to be placed in a sound evidence enclosure.

Exceptional, i replaced a cisco smaller small business switch with this and i have recognized a considerable advancement in functionality of the community. Actually happy with the product.

Does the job nicely at a pretty sensible selling price.

Purchased this for our residence to replace an old 8port switch, pleased with the velocity it provides and the latency is lower. No problems as of however with it.

Superior fanless 24 port gbe switch. Not several fanless 24 port gbe switches out there. This just goes on performing and won’t get also incredibly hot.

      This is a great poe switch which is ideal if you are setting up poe wi-fi access points or poe cctv cameras. 3af compliant and allows you to connect up to 8 poe devices and 8 network devices at 100mb/s. Note you can connect non-poe devices to the poe ports as the switch can tell if the device needs poe or not. The unit comes with a rack mounting kit and with the ports and lights at the front is great for installing in a network rack. The cons on this unit area) it is only 100mb/s which was fine for what i needed and an equivalent gigabit switch was much dearerb) as pointed out previously this baby is noisy. I have had small 4 port poe switches that were silent before and i knew this had fans buts it is much louder than i thought. I run a 4 bay readynas in the rack with this switch and its louder than even it. Not necessarily a deal breaker but certainly something to keep in mind.

    Zyxel gs1100-16 – 16 port unit. I bought this 16 port unit, zxel gs1100-16, to replace my previous 8 port zyxel switch, as i needed another connection in my home officeit works perfectly for me, hence the five star review. I’ve noticed no performance degradation with this new unit, and no freezing at all. As a bonus this unit comes with the parts to either rack mount it, wall mount it or simply sit it on your desk. I put the four little round rubber stickers on to sit it on my desk. Switched it on and job done.

    A great, compact 16-port gigabit switch. . I ran out of ports on my 8-port zyxel desktop gigabit switch so i had to look for a replacement – which meant finding a 16-port desktop switch. Daisy chaining another 8-port switch to the first would have been much cheaper but would have used an extra power socket, and more importantly would not offer the same capability (all 7 sockets on the second switch would have to share the one gigabit link between the switches). On paper most of the 16-port switches have very similar specs, but the zyxel was the most compact i could find (and in my opinion was the best looking). The box it came in felt quite heavy but that was because in addition to the switch itself, the box contains metal brackets that allow you to rack-mount the switch if required. Similarly the switch itself seems quite heavy until you realise that’s because its power supply is internal, and there is no power brick just a standard “kettle” power lead. So far it has worked faultlessly and i am very pleased with it. The only thing i would have liked was for the lan sockets to be on the back of the switch rather than the front for neatness, but all the 16-port desktop switches i could find were the same so it’s just something you have to live with once you go beyond an 8-port switch.

    Not the lowest cost but consistenly good stuff. I plugged it in and forgot about it. The poe is in use for my wifi and voip.
